The Jade Gathering Empty
PostSubject: The Jade Gathering   The Jade Gathering I_icon_minitimeSun Jun 10, 2012 8:54 pm

“The Cenarion Circle does what it can to ensure peace prevails, and the defilers of Azeroth are beaten back and shown that this world is not ready for the taking. They battle for serenity in the forests and fight to cleanse the taint of the plains. Without the Cenarion Circle, this world would have fallen into ruin aeons ago, but it can only do so much.
The Cenarion Confederation formed originally around three and a half years ago with a single cause; to aid the Cenarion Circle, and pick-up where is has inadvertently left off. It worked well for a short while, but the darkness prevailed and knocked it back in the Battle of Lake Falathim. The Confederation was disbanded, and only a legacy lasting to remind others of it.
Then on the twelfth day of January, it was reformed, with Shan’do Malvor Lashvine and High Druid Noshi Treeshaper at its forefront. Azeroth once again began to benefit from the Confederation, and much was accomplished. The Felwood Crusade took place, and while the Crusaders were defeated, it strengthened them in both mind and body, and the Cenarion Confederation powered on, moving in to Ashenvale and doing what it could.
Now, I speak today of the new prospects for the Confederation, we have broken from our Horde sister, for they were not successful in their formation. We have tightened up our recruitment, after the issue with Captain Jonathan Delder, and we have written a new set of goals. With all this in mind, the Jade Gathering – for now we will be addressed – will prosper, and will achieve what it intends.
With me, Malvor Lashvine, as a leader and figurehead, and my Officers at my side, we will go forth and redirect Azeroth to its intended path, and eradicate those who plague the land and destroy the forests. We will make sure that our goals are achieved, or fall trying. It is time for Azeroth to be returned to that which it was intended to be.
The darkness falls and those who feed it will be sent back into the abyss; with Cenarius’ guidance we will change this world. Light of the Moon show our path, and strength of the earth help us walk it. The forest will lend its aid, and if its inhabitants do so also, we will have nothing to fear. Join us, brothers and sisters, and see this world change, for good!”
– Malvor Lashvine

The Jade Gathering

“What actually are you?"

To put things simply; we’re one of the first and only known (subject to change) full Cenarion Circle-based Druidic roleplaying guild. That is not to say that we won’t accept non-Druids, of course! The Cenarion Circle, along with The Jade Gathering, comprises of much more than the generic Druid force. We are in need of Wardens, Guards and Civilians as well.

Much has changed during The Jade Gathering’s lifetime, but we continue to focus completely around the storyline element of RP. The guild intends to heal the land and ‘redirect’ Azeroth to the path which it appears to follow within the Emerald Dream. We intend to pick up where the Cenarion Circle fails to finish off, and eradicate certain groups which corrupt and devastate the forest.

We always emphasise the importance of developing a storyline for your own character, and in most cases try and bring this storyline into the guild events and such. We, as a guild, try and teach younger Druids (and newer roleplayers) the ways of the wild (and roleplay!) when possible, so if you’re joining us with little experience of how things work, I’m sure me and my Officers can lend our aid.

“Roaming guild”

The first thing you’ll need to know about the Jades, is we’re what will become known as a “roaming guild”; meaning we move from place to place on a monthly basis. Camp changes are usually* on a Sunday at around 19:00 realm time, and we’ll either move from one place to another in a zone, or to a completely new zone altogether.

This all helps to emphasise that we’re trying to avoid ‘boredom’ of a certain area. When the guild first started out, we spent around five months in Moonglade, which inevitably led to a lot of people complaining that the area was boring, and needed a change. So we moved, this page will be continually updated with our current location as things change. As it stands, The Jade Gathering is currently based in:

Gilneas

This may well change within the next week, so don’t expect it to be up to date 24/7, I’ll make a change when possible. If you want to meet the Jades in their current location, you can either choose to ‘bump into us’, if you have no IC way of being informed. Or, of course, you could presume that your character had read a pamphlet that detailed of their tendency to move, and told of them currently being situated in whatever location it may be.

Said pamphlets will be able to be found around Darnassus ICly, so they’d be easy to come across. If you want to inquire any further about our roaming nature, speak to Malvor, Ashevn or Erlador in-game, and we’ll give you the run through.

“Super-special ranking system”

Ok, maybe the title is ramping things up a little, but our ranking system certainly works for us, and most people seem to agree with it. We have three “Paths” that you can choose from joining the guild. These paths allow you to progress along them in order to give you an at least vaguely unique experience when in the guild. The paths currently include:

Path of the Civilian
A simple but vital path. When joining as a Civilian, you will start out as an Initiate, as all others, and move your way on to either take a more prominent role as a Druid or Guard, or perhaps take over one of the ‘Officer’ ranks. You can also, of course, choose to remain as Civilian for your time with us, and there will be no objection.

Path of the Guard
As things stand, the path of the Guard consists of beginning as an initiate, moving on to become a humble Guard, and then progressing forth as a ‘Warden’. If you show your loyalty and prove that you are a capable leader, you may well also be taken on as a Guard Captain – the number of which may vary depending on activity.

Path of the Druid
Our most popular path by far. Around 90% of the guild is composed of Druids, and for good reason. The Druid path has been changed slightly from our beginning, and now it possesses more progressive ranks than the other paths. You will begin as an initiate, as per usual, and then become what will be deemed a Thero’shan*. After this phase is completed, your guild title will change to that of an Adept, and then eventually a fully-fledged Druid.

* I would like to note that all rank titles are used specifically for ease of placing in the guild, and do not, in any way, reflect your characters' actual IC standing as a Druid. For example, if you are an Elder Druid in-game, than you will still have to pass the Thero’shan and Adept stage before being classed as a Druid.

“Currency”

I’m not going to dwell on this section for too much longer, as the post is beginning to drag on a little. We use a special Currency system that allows players to earn “Cenarion Coins” during rank progression and event attendance. These Coins can be used to purchase a number of items from the Guild Shop or Bank.

The items sold will either be actual in-game items, such as armour and clothes, or GHI-made items, such as books or potions. You can buy them off of either our Supply Officer, or one of our Civilian players. Guild Shops will be open when it suits us both ICly and OOCly.

“Initiation”

If you want a place within the Jades, you’ll have to pass through the Initiation stage first. This involves roleplaying with us for a maximum of five days. If you prove to us that your RP quality is high enough, and that you’re fairly active within this period, then you will be given an automatic place with us.

This should ensure that we don’t have any stragglers joining the guild, and that our quality of RP remains top-notch. In most cases, it will only take a day, or number of hours before a decision can be come to. You’ll likely be asked to attend a guild event so everyone can get a look, and there you will be given a place with us.

Who’s in charge?

Shan’do
In our current state, the guild is watched over by the Shan’do, who is the founder of the guild and the IC and OOC leader. The Shan’do has charge over all Officers and everyone else, but will do as much as possible to make sure that things are led fairly, with everyone’s opinion taken into account. The current, and so far only shan’do is Malvor Lashvine whom founded the guild, and wrote this forum post.

Advisor
The Advisor to the Shan’do is the person who will be called upon to lead the guild when the Shan’do is away. He passes second rule in the guild, and has control over all lower-ranking Officers and members. The Advisor rank is difficult to earn, and as things stand, only one will be appointed at a time. Our current Advisor is Ashevn Windwalker who was one of the first members in the guild, and has shown continual support throughout.

Captain of the Guard
The Captain of the Guard will act as a temporary Advisor if needed, but must answer to the Advisor and Shan’do when they are around. The Guard Captain has equal rights to the Supply Officer, and will have to confer with such before making a decision, providing the high-ranking officers aren’t around. The Guard Captain will lead the guild in a number of events and drills, when necessary. As things stand, we have no current Guard Captain, as our previous Captain has died ICly. This rank it up for the taking.

Supply Officer
The Supply Officer – also known as Quartermaster – role is equal in terms of privileges to the Guard Captain, and possesses the same control over other members of the guild. With primary leadership over the Civilian section, this rank can also take command over any lower-ranking members of the guild. Our current Supply Officer is Erlador Thornbark, a Druid training under the teaching of Advisor Windwalker and a loyal member.

Events

The Jades have events on most main days of the week. This currently includes: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Almost all event times are 19:00, but if this happens to change, it will be specified. Saturday is our Major Storyline Event, and will always have a huge impact on what happens throughout the week. Sunday is the day when we move camp, and is rather important that you attend it.

Monday, Thursday and Friday are Officer-led events, so will bit a little lower-tech than the Major Storyline events, but will still have a huge impact on how the guilds weekly gatherings play out. If any of these events are not going to take place for any reason, it will be said in the GMotD. All events are put up on the calendar for all guild members, so sign up if you’re attending!

Of course, if you want to find RP all the time, you’ll have to make some of your own. This means casually RPing in whichever region we find ourselves, be it through simply talking around a campfire, or going out into the forest to hunt for food, you can do whatever you like, and, providing it isn’t too ridiculous, you can bring it into the guild storyline events rather easily.

That’s about it for the forum post. I know a lot of things need more detail, but this can be found on our AA page if you want it. Recruitment is fairly simple, and if you find yourself wanting a place with the Jades; talk to any of the Officers or the Shan’do via in-game mail, AA private messages, or here, on this post. Please, post a comment giving your views, and help us out if any information is lacking.
